All of us have a story to tell and a legacy to leave. Below are inspiring stories of faithful supporters like you. Each has included World Vision in their estate plan so they can continue to support World Vision after their lifetime - it's their legacy of love to the world's children.
Pat & Donald Erickson, Washington
World Vision partner since 2000
"Just passing through" doesn't quite cut it for Pat and her husband Donald. They believe God calls each of us to use whatever gifts we have to make a lasting mark on the world.
"We want to be sure that when we leave this earth, the things we've accumulated and accomplished have an ongoing impact," says Pat. "People have different gifts, and ours is being able to give financially."
For Pat and Donald, the blessing runs both ways. "Anytime you give without expecting something back, you are blessed. It feels wonderful to give to World Vision because we're supporting an organization that does so much good, helping so many people."
It started years ago, when they began sponsoring a child. Now Pat and Donald have a charitable remainder unitrust, with World Vision named as the beneficiary.
"We started thinking about what we'd like to have done with our estate. By leaving our money to World Vision, we're doing something that will last beyond ourselves. World Vision is helping us to leave a legacy."
With their plans in place, Pat and Donald anticipate the future with confidence. "We put a lot of consideration into our plans," they explain, "and we feel very good about our decisions. We know World Vision is helping those who really need help.
"We know it's a good choice!"
