Building a better world for children today and tomorrow....

All of us have a story to tell and a legacy to leave. Below are inspiring stories of faithful supporters like you. Each has included World Vision in their estate plan so they can continue to support World Vision after their lifetime - it's their legacy of love to the world's children.

Our small gift can amount to so much more.
"Our small gift can amount to so much more."

Lance and Donna Goetzman, Wisconsin
Part of the World Vision family since 1979

Though the Goetzmans don't remember how they first became donors, World Vision has been a significant part of their giving for the last 30 years. "I don't believe that there is any better charity you could give to," Lance says.

He likes knowing the organization receives grants that enable their gifts to be multiplied many times over. "Though small, our gifts can amount to so much more!" Lance exclaims. Additionally, it's important that World Vision is a Christian organization and is highly rated by Charity Navigator.

Now retired, Lance and Donna have five grown children, all of whom are married with children of their own. For the last 30 years, they have made it a point to involve their family in their giving. They taught them that the most rewarding part of giving is helping those who are in need.

That's one reason they've all agreed to make the World Vision Gift Catalog a Christmas tradition. "We deducted a little bit from the kid's Christmas presents to give," Lance shares. He says that everyone enjoyed giving this way. "Each of the families went through and picked out what they wanted to participate in."

Inspired by their family's eagerness to be involved, they looked for other ways to contribute. "I was contacted by someone at World Vision, and they sent us information to help us plan our legacy," Lance remembers. "It was something that we had been considering for a while. Now we have enough to give to our children and some of the charitable organizations we have been giving to for many years."

After looking through the information, Lance and Donna decided to update their will to include a bequest to World Vision. Because supporting the organization's work is important to them, they are excited to know that they can continue to help even after they're gone. "We feel strongly that we should be giving back to people in need around the world."

By naming World Vision in their will, Lance and Donna are not only modeling giving for their family, they are also increasing their support beyond their lifetime.
