All of us have a story to tell and a legacy to leave. Below are inspiring stories of faithful supporters like you. Each has included World Vision in their estate plan so they can continue to support World Vision after their lifetime - it's their legacy of love to the world's children.
Grace Healy, California
part of the World Vision family since 1990
Grace remembers sponsoring her first child like it was yesterday. She began her sponsorship after watching a TV program that shared how World Vision was helping people in need. "The Lord put it on my heart to call and give support to children," shares Grace. That's when she began sponsoring a little girl from Ghana.
"I really enjoyed sponsoring her and getting reports about how she was doing in school and everything," says Grace, who even sent gifts for her birthday. When she grew up and no longer needed support, Grace began sponsoring another little girl from Ethiopia. Grace prays regularly for her to know the love of Jesus.
"I am just really happy to be able to help children," Grace says. Knowing that she is making an impact in her sponsored child's life brings Grace a sense of contentment and joy. "It really makes me feel good to know that I am helping other people."
When Grace received a letter from World Vision about how to include them in her estate plan, she decided it was a great opportunity. "At the time I was doing my living trust. The attorney asked me who I would like to have named a beneficiary and I wanted World Vision included. When you give a gift through your will or living trust, you know that your money is going to continue on to help others." That's why she made World Vision a beneficiary of her living trust.
Though she still wishes she could do more, Grace feels good knowing that she can continue to change lives even after she is gone. "It's a good feeling to know I am leaving a legacy behind."
