All of us have a story to tell and a legacy to leave. Below are inspiring stories of faithful supporters like you. Each has included World Vision in their estate plan so they can continue to support World Vision after their lifetime - it's their legacy of love to the world's children.
Tom and Nancy Hindman, Florida
part of the World Vision family since 1985
Tom and Nancy first heard about World Vision through a TV special about the needs in Africa. They started out by sponsoring one child and quickly decided to support more.
As a minister and a teacher, Tom and Nancy feel the most rewarding part of their giving to World Vision is the knowledge that they are helping people who are truly in need. "We just want to do what we can to help," shares Nancy. "Giving to people when you know they can't return anything is so rewarding." Tom adds: "Another important factor in our giving to World Vision is that we know a large portion of the funds we give goes to those who really need it. We appreciate that accountability."
Tom and Nancy know that, while their giving may be small, it is still helping. "The information we get from World Vision shows that these children really don't have any other resource but to reach outside for help," explains Tom.
So when Tom and Nancy began planning for their future, they decided to include World Vision as a beneficiary of their living trust. "We feel World Vision is a worthwhile organization, and we know they do such good things," shares Tom. Motivated by their faith, the couple feels that it is important to remember the organizations they've given to during their life even when they are no longer here.
"Whatever we have when we leave this world, we want to share it with those who really need help," expresses Tom.
