All of us have a story to tell and a legacy to leave. Below are inspiring stories of faithful supporters like you. Each has included World Vision in their estate plan so they can continue to support World Vision after their lifetime - it's their legacy of love to the world's children.
Don and Carol Rotta
Part of the World Vision family since 1992
Don and Carol first learned about World Vision through friends of theirs. "We felt it was a great ministry. We would receive information in the mail and would give to whatever project we felt we should give to," shares Carol.
They've also given through the World Vision Gift Catalog. "I think it's great to do that rather than give gifts when people are so overwhelmed with things," says Carol.
"It's important to us that World Vision is a Christian organization," Carol further explains. "We like the fact they don't just give out money, but they teach and enable people to help themselves. We are very careful about where we give our money."
When Don and Carol received an inheritance, they knew they wanted to tithe to charity, but "didn't want to do it all at once." They were encouraged to create a donor advised fund so they had time to determine what they wanted to accomplish with their money. Eventually, they decided to use their donor advised fund to continue support of their favorite causes after their lifetime. As they explain, "on our passing, the money will go to the charities we have listed, including World Vision. We just believe in the integrity of the whole organization, their mission and goals. We know our gift to them will be used wisely."
The Rottas hope their gift will continue to spread the gospel and teach children about the love of Christ. "Scripture says that your works do follow you. We would like to have our resources be multiplied after our death," they share. By including World Vision in their end of life giving they are doing just that.
