All of us have a story to tell and a legacy to leave. Below are inspiring stories of faithful supporters like you. Each has included World Vision in their estate plan so they can continue to support World Vision after their lifetime - it's their legacy of love to the world's children.
Leonard and Kristi Betts, California
Part of the World Vision family since 1993
"I looked at the pictures of the children, and they touched my heart," says Kristi, remembering the day she and her husband first learned about World Vision child sponsorship. "I knew I had to sponsor one, if not more," she adds.
Since then, sponsorship has become an important part of Leonard and Kristi's lives. So important that they now sponsor four children-all in different countries around the world. "We would like to eventually sponsor a child on every continent where World Vision is helping children," expresses Kristi.
The Betts regularly write to their sponsored children, and they love receiving letters in which their kids talk about their lives and their excitement for the future. "I am always delighted to hear about the children's progress in school," says Kristi. "
What's more, Leonard and Kristi know that their gifts are helping to build entire communities. "It's wonderful to hear that a community where one of our children lives has gotten clean water or that more children have the opportunity to go to school because of our donations. It's so encouraging," adds Leonard.
Their passion for children in need and their confidence in World Vision led the Betts to include the organization in their will. "We've been sponsoring children through World Vision for over a decade. It just made sense for us to put them into our estate plans," shares Leonard.
Knowing that their estate gift is in the hands of an organization they trust ensures the Betts that their impact will last beyond their lifetime. "We have great confidence in the organization and know they will use our money wisely when we are no longer here."
